What is IFS
IFS therapy (sometimes called “parts work”) is based on the idea that our inner world is made up of different parts, each carrying its own emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. These parts are often amazing helpers, guiding us through everyday life. Sometimes, however, parts take on extreme roles, like perfectionism, overworking, restriction, or self-harm, in an attempt to manage internal or external pressures. Over time, this can feel exhausting and create patterns that are hard to break.
Through IFS, we work to understand and connect with these parts, giving them space to be heard and supported. This process can help you make sense of your inner experiences, reduce internal conflict, and open the door to meaningful change.
As an integrative therapist, I blend IFS with other approaches, such as person-centered therapy, so the work is tailored to you. This allows the gentle curiosity of IFS to combine with other methods that support self-understanding, growth, and healing in ways that feel natural for you.
