Frequently Asked Questions.
What happens in the first session?
In our first session, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and explore what’s bringing you to therapy. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance, just come as you are. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready to. It’s also a chance for you to see how it feels to work with me.
Do you only work with eating disorders?
Not at all. While I have experience supporting people with eating issues, I also work with clients navigating trauma, inner conflict, self-criticism, relationship struggles, perfectionism, or a general feeling of being stuck. IFS is a gentle and powerful way to explore any part of your inner world.
Do I need to know anything about Internal Family Systems (IFS) before starting?
No. Many clients are new to IFS when they begin. I’ll introduce you to the approach at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t need to “do” anything. We’ll explore together in a way that’s grounded, compassionate, and tailored to your experience.
For those with curious or eager- to- learn parts, I recommend reading “No bad parts” by Richard Schwartz. It is a gentle and easy-to-read book that can help you to start connecting with your parts outside the therapy.
Is therapy right for me if I don’t have a diagnosis or a clear issue?
Yes. Therapy can be valuable even if you’re not sure what’s “wrong.” Many clients come because they feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply want to understand themselves better. You’re welcome here whether you’re in crisis or just curious about your inner world.
How often will we meet?
Most clients choose to meet weekly, especially at the start. That said, I work flexibly depending on your needs and what feels most helpful. We’ll discuss this together and adjust as needed.
How much does each session cost?
My fee is £65 per 50-minute session. I understand that therapy is a commitment, so if cost feels like a barrier, I’m open to discussing your circumstances to see if we can find a way that feels manageable.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations are charged at the full session fee. Payment is made in advance of each confirmed session via bank transfer.
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
At present, all sessions are held online via a secure video platform. In future, I may also offer in-person sessions in the Reading, UK area. If this interests you, feel free to let me know and we can explore options together.
How do I get started?
You’re welcome to reach out through the contact form or email me to arrange an initial consultation. There’s no pressure to commit, just a gentle first step to see if I might be the right fit for you.
Which clients do you work with?
I offer therapy for clients aged 16 and over. I welcome individuals of all genders, backgrounds, and identities. My practice is a space where all parts of you are welcome.
What is the session format?
